From my heart…
This has been on my heart all week and I just wanted to speak to you and give you a virtual hug. I want to assure you that God cares. God sees your tears and He is near the broken-hearted. (Psalm 34:18)
As holidays quickly approach, I am praying for my friends who grieve. The first holidays are difficult and I’m praying for you. In fact, every holiday since my dad passed away has been difficult for my grieving heart. I try to find comfort in the fact that he is in heaven and is without pain.
Doug and I both lost our dad’s suddenly and I remember that pain. I still grieve for my dad with every holiday.
I know today will be difficult for many of you. Please know that I am praying for you and for our Heavenly Father to wrap you in His comforting arms.
I pray that a some of these words will bring you
comfort and peace.
For the grieving heart:
“When all you can hear is the sound of your own weeping, listen with your spiritual ears for the sound of the angels of God marching into your battle to defeat your adversaries.” ~Brian Zahnd and Jentezen Franklin, What to Do on the Worst Day of Your Life
“If our departed ones could come back to us and tell us about their experiences with the Lord in heaven, I feel certain they would tell us three things. First, they would tell us to concentrate on the way they were when they were at their best in this life. Second, they would tell us to enjoy our lives to the fullest and choose to fill them with the best memories and experiences possible. Third, they would tell us to spend more time getting to know Christ better.” ~Zig Ziglar, Confessions of a Grieving Christian
The Empty Chair Prayer
The pies are in the freezer, the turkey’s on the list,
But this Thanksgiving, oh how a loved one will be missed!
Lord Jesus, please hear our Thanksgiving prayer,
For those gathered around a table that has an empty chair,
Oh Lord, comfort their hearts-we know that you are able.
And let them know that this year, there’s another chair at Heaven’s Table!
I know the pain is so strong that we often do not know what to pray. The verses on this blanket are verses I have often prayed myself and make a wonderful gift for someone that you know that is grieving.
I want to encourage …. Do not give up HOPE. God hears you.
