2018: Be Intentional

Be Intentional in 2018.

I want to be intentional in four areas: God, Family, Personal (me) and My Blog.

Intentional With My Relationship With God

I want to be intentional in my relationship with God:

Devoted To Devotions- I absolutely need to prioritize my devotions and time with God.

Prioritize Prayer – I am committing time to pray each day.

Frequent Fasting – Fasting is the act of denying yourself food (diet coke, meals) or materials things. For example: During the time you fast a meal, you spend that time either praying or reading the Bible.

“Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it” Ephesians 5:10

Happy New Year!

I prefer to set goals rather than the traditional resolutions because I am constantly striving to improve.  I am a goal oriented person and set daily and monthly goals for myself.

My word for this year is: Intentional.

Intentional In My Relationship With My Family:

I want to prioritize family time:

Husband – Continue date nights and weekend getaways when possible. Listen to his dreams and likewise.

Children – Be supportive and helpful while having healthy boundaries to protect all relationships.

Grandchildren – Ensure they know their Mimi and that their Mimi loves them. Spend time with each grandchild doing something special.

While I am with my husband, children and grandchildren, I want to be present in the moment. What does that mean? Being present in the moment is to commit to being fully present: putting down my laptop, not checking my phone, not checking my email, and not sitting with my computer.

Intentional With Me (Personal):

Prioritize Myself:

Body – That includes two areas for me. First I need to move, move, move!  I just need to get moving again and I want to complete four 5K, walks. I have established a Facebook group for accountability in this area.

Eat Clean In 2018 –  I was eating cleaning long before Christmas and have been quite successful since August of 2015. I just need to make it happen and cut the C.R.A.P.

  • C-Carbonated drinks
  • R- Refined Sugars
  • A- Artificial Foods
  • P- Processed Foods

Celebrate – I want to celebrate and celebrate more often. I know that I took time to celebrate some things in 2017 but I didn’t celebrate all of my accomplishments.

When my children were growing up, we would celebrate their half birthdays with a cupcake and ice cream.  We celebrated everything: Honor Roll, kindness shown to others, passing a final and many other things.

Intentional With My Blog:

Leave my heart open for God to guide me in what he wants me to do. HE is doing a new thing.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19
